THE MARKET AT PRESTON UNVEILS NEW SPIRIT PUMP TO BENEFIT LOCAL PUBLIC SCHOOLS
Charlottesville City-wide PTO Fund and The Markets by Tiger partner to give customers the chance to give back when they fuel up. The Markets by Tiger are excited to unveil a custom-designed gas pump at the locally owned convenience store chain’s Preston Avenue location. At this “Spirit Pump,” customers who purchase fuel from this specific pump at the store will both fuel up and give back to their community with their purchase. The first of what will be a series of charitable initiatives across all Markets in 2026, the Market by Preston’s Spirit Pump will benefit the Charlottesville City-wide PTO Fund. “We’re extremely grateful to The Market for this opportunity to expand awareness of and funding for the new Charlottesville City-wide PTO Fund. We need more community partners to step up and join them as we work to increase funding, level the playing field, and provide the academic enrichment and school programming that every child in the city deserves." said representatives of the City-wide PTO Fund.
The Market at Preston’s Spirit Pump will support the Charlottesville City-wide PTO Fund from Wednesday, March 11th – July 31st, 2026. 1 cent per gallon of each fill up will support the Charlottesville City-wide PTO Fund in their mission to increase funding to support academic enrichment and school programming, address inequities in PTO fundraising across all Charlottesville City Schools, and to amplify the overall impact for students and educators district-wide.
The spirit pump will be unveiled on Wednesday, March 11th at a special ribbon cutting event at The Market at Preston from 1-3PM. Leadership from the Charlottesville City-wide PTO Fund, the Charlottesville Chamber of Commerce, and The Markets by Tiger will be present to commemorate the exciting new opportunity for customers to give back when they fuel up.
